Family Beach House

West Sussex

Sea Avenue Lounge from entrance

This large family 1930s home is flip-flop steps away from a gorgeous Sussex beach. The new owners enlisted Emma's help to create a striking dining room and a calm sitting room. They wanted to transform the dated rooms into a refreshing space for the hot summers and to design warm, cosy nooks for curling up with a good book for stormy days.

Ocean blues, sandy shores and shingle tones inspired Emma's chosen colour palette. Her clever space planning approach repositioned original fireplaces, reused original parquet floors and introduced fireside joinery to create additional storage. New key furniture pieces, accent lamps, soft furnishings, striped blinds and fabric wallpaper all added layers of comfort and luxury.

We wanted to thank you for giving us our two lovely rooms in our new home. Having moved last summer we really didn’t know where to start. We are so happy with the outcome. The colour choices are perfect and we absolutely love our furniture which we couldn’t have found without your help. The lounge is now my favourite room in the house. We have been told by our neighbours we have “very good taste” and our family think the transformation is wonderful.
